Took part in the event last week on 14^th & 15^th Jan @ NYP Atrium ^. ^

Look at the number of shops that participated too. Some are pretty recognisable. But *ahem*,  the nicest logo has to be ours!

The event was coordinated by students from NYP business school, pretty impressed by a bunch of teenagers (though I’m not that old either la :P). All we had to do was send down our products and the students assigned to each store will be in-charge of the set-up plus doubling up as sale personnel to promote the goods.

However the day started DISASTROUSLY, HORRIBILY, UNBELIEVABLILTY WRONG!!! First we couldn’t locate our store; when we eventually found it, the store was in a total mess…. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found the store #$%@#^&….

Totally unrecognisable and our products were all mixed up with another shop!!! I was so pissed that whoever crossed my paths at the point got an earful lashing from my unforgiving tongue….

Yes I totally blew my top and I clearly scared off everyone. Only got everything settled after questioning and clarification from the organisers and students. No thanks to the teachers who are totally hopeless at doing any damn thing, not regretting a single bit for giving them a piece of my mind! Huurrfff… all they said was “don’t blame the students, it isn’t their fault.” Hello? I’m not that mean and evil la, of course I know it’s not the students’ fault as they’re young and inexperienced which I can totally understand (Hey I was young like them not too long ago :P). What made me so mad was that those so called teachers weren’t there to guide the students to ensure they learn….

Anyway after the lousy start, things started looking good (what a relief!)

See how hard Alvin is still trying to promote and sell our products even after seeing the flaming me.

I must say I’m really very impressed by him, he was always smiley and asking me what he can help or do even after I scolded everyone! He definitely has a bright future ahead if he keeps this up, thumbs up for him!

The students even put up a mini runway show to entice the students + staffs to buy the goods.

Anyway, it ended well and we sold quite a numbers of our products. Hopefully the buyers will happy and satisfied with their purchases.

Special thanks to the 2 student- in-charges who had done a fantastic job despite the uneventful start in the beginning!

It’s a routine to drop by Myeong-Dong during our buying trips to check out the latest popular fashion in Korea. It’s like Causeway bay in Hong Kong or Orchard Road in Singapore, where the hippest people hang out, watch movies, meetup with friends and of course to shop!

Look at the number of people!!!

This is taken on a Thursday late afternoon around 4.30pm.

The street was already so packed… since it was autumn then (mid Oct), the weather had started to become chillier as you can see from the sweaters and long sleeve tees.

This ‘’ahjussi” or uncle was sort of ‘posing’ for me when I was busy snapping pictures. Despite his age, he still looks kinda fit and dresses pretty cool as compared to some guy friends I know who totally can’t be bothered with how they dress or look. :p

I really love this little ‘waffles’ thingy. The ‘’ahjumma” will even draw little hearts or bear faces on the waffles! Actually, it’s just 2 very thin waffles stuck together with some caster sugar, nothing fancy but it was really fun watching her make them.

This is like the Korean version of the Chinese 葱油饼. It is actually less oily and crispier! If you see this in Korea, give it a try! :)

Enough about food, the purpose of the trips is to check out the latest trends. I totally love their shoes… we carry quite a number of designs, limited pairs due to the high cost of keeping so many different sizes and stocks, do look out for them when on the site! Or when we hold sprees for them (to bring down the costs for everyone!).

I must introduce this unique pizza I had during one of my trips to Korea.

Singapore has Pizza Hut, US has Domino Pizza and Korea has Mr. Pizza!

What’s so different is they don’t use the usual like cheese or sausages for crust stuffing.

It’s SWEET POTATO!

Yes I know, that sounds so strange and weird… I thought so too

But my Korean friends highly recommended this, so bravely I tried.

That was the best pizza I ever tasted, it’s just hard to describe the wonderful flavour bursting in your mouth. It’s crispy on the outside and sweet and mushy inside, cleverly topped off with savoury BBQ beef and roasted onions.

Plus a “Women’s Wonderful Well-Being” salad bar to go with your pizza to make you feel less guilty.

Can’t wait to go back for more J

Firstly, I’d like to apologise to those who are going to be spammed with this flyer even though you’re not the mailing list. It’s one-off so please forgive us! All in the spirit of Christmas yeah? :)

Anyway, we’re going to another bazaar! Gotten two booths (103 & 104) so you can expect clothes this time round. Probably all tops only like basic tees and tanks. Some with military elements, some studded, some vintage-inspired… But nothing’s confirmed yet since we’re still trying to sort out our stock. One thing’s for sure though, 95% of the items will not be uploaded to the store front till the bazaar’s over. So those who come down will get the first pick!

Accessories wise, there will be more than double the number of items as seen at FashBash. Possibly some hats and bags if our capacity allows. Definitely worth the trip down if you’re still looking for gifts for xmas exchanges without breaking the bank. Even if there’s nothing you want to buy from us, there’re still 100 other stalls for you to choose from right?

Fashbash was over in a flash. Didn’t turn out as crazy as we expected it to be (must be the rain?) but it was interesting nevertheless. Our stall layout was definitely the most amateur-ish but I’ve to say that our messy table was so chocked full of affordable goodies that some couldn’t resist dropping by 2-3 (even 4) times to browse through the items again and again.

Nothing more than $15! Pity the lack of space. We only managed to display less than 50% of the necklaces.

Bestseller = Zipper Necklace. Probably the main attraction of our booth. Black is completely sold out and stock will only be coming in Jan’2010. There’s still one sample left if anyone wants to try at our next bazaar (19th Dec @ the pits building by Eureka Bazaars).

Funny how feathers are already out-of-trend in Korea but the rage just started here. They’re all on sale so be sure to grab the last of them at the next bazaar!

Clips, clips and more hair clips. Starts from $3 each. One lady grabbed 8 of them while chatting on the phone. Don’t think too much when it’s cheap!

Apparently, our wire ribbon earrings (in gold & silver) are more expensive at Montip. Now you know where to get your accessories from. :)

The actual amount of goods we brought along. What the shoppers saw was only 30% of it I think? We’ll attempt to display everything on the 19th. And rest assured that it wouldn’t be as cluttered. After all, this was our virgin bazaar and it’ll only get better. ;)

ANYWAYS, the entire Mokoya team have been working hard and putting together all the resources to make sure you girls (and I) have the ultimate shopping experience! Personally, I am an avid online shopper. And now that Teresa (the shop owner aka my boss aka my-boss-who-tells-us-not-to-identify-her-as-our-boss-but-our-friend-instead) has painstakingly flown back and forth Korea and will still be bringing in the latest fashion trends from there, no worries about getting your shopping loot from overseas already!

Did I forget to mention that we are in for a good time? The girls (and guys) of Mokoya’s team has come to realise an unprecedented fact that ladies do go through a lot for the sake of vanity. So sometimes I give myself the benefit of doubt of what’s selling in retail shops out there because I am simply too lazy to strut around in heels looking for a specific apparel.

I had been dying to get a pair of oxford flats, and a decent tote for school. I decided to go down to Far East Plaza to hunt for them yesterday, hopefully they’d have it.

Well they do but apparently they do not have plus-sized shoes. I tell you my feet are so huge you don’t even wanna know the size. I’ll just let you in the fact that if I were to be born in those dynasty periods, I would die a virgin because the men then think women with big feet are unappealing.

And The Higher Being endowed me with each foot that is 260mm (okay now you know) long… Which is ginormous for a lady…

SO YES. You know my plight. Going around FEP (for the whole of 3 hours) asking for size 41/42 wasn’t easy because I felt insinuated whenever the salesgirls looked at me sympathetically and asked whether I could fit into a size 39/40. Well I tried but…

Hell, I wish.

Enough of the digressing, but Teresa was really nice ‘cos she said she would find more shoes for me in Korea! So girls who are like me, sadly walking around streets of Singapore feeling like tall freaks with big feet, no fret because Lady Boss will do the shopping for us!!!!!!!
